President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has officially inaugurated the new headquarters of Somalia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports in Mogadishu.The modern building is part of the Federal Government’s wider efforts to improve public services for young people and strengthen the development of sports across the country.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Hassan Sheikh said the new ministry building carries special national value because it was built through Somali resources, knowledge, and expertise.
He noted that the project reflects the government’s commitment to empowering Somali youth, whom he described as the backbone of the country’s development, peace, and future.
Mohamed Abbdulkadir Ali, the Minister of Youth and Sports said the new headquarters represents a major milestone in rebuilding national institutions and creating a better working environment for the ministry’s staff.
He added that the facility will help improve the delivery of youth and sports programs, support young talent, and expand opportunities for Somali youth across the country.During his address, President Hassan Sheikh also highlighted the government’s achievements in security, democratization, the implementation of direct elections, the completion of the Constitution, and the strengthening of state institutions.
He emphasized that, in line with the promises made to the Somali people, the government has given special priority to finalizing the country’s Constitution.
He said the Federal Government’s agenda will be guided by the approved Constitution, including the mandate of state institutions, the separation of powers, and official government procedures.
