Handover Ceremony of the Director General of the Ministry of Health


The Minister of Health and Human Services of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Aden, today officially oversaw the handover ceremony between the new Director General of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Yusuf Hassan Isaaq, and the outgoing Director General, Dr. Guled Abdijalil.


The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health hall and was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Health of the South West State, departmental directors, heads of various sections, and staff members of the Ministry of Health. Also present were representatives from the Office of the Auditor General and other officials from government institutions linked to health and administration.


The Minister of Health and Human Services, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Aden, advised the new Director General to continue advancing the country’s health services, improve the capacity and quality of the Ministry’s workforce, and strengthen administrative transparency. The Minister also highlighted the importance of accountability and integrity in service delivery so that healthcare services can be provided to the Somali people in an efficient and effective manner.


On the other hand, the Minister commended the efforts made by the former Director General of the Ministry of Health and Human Services of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Guled Abdijalil, during his tenure at the Ministry, noting that cooperation remains essential to the smooth functioning of institutional work.


The new Director General of the Ministry of Health, Yusuf Hassan Isaaq, expressed his gratitude to the Minister and the Ministry’s staff, and pledged to work on advancing the Ministry’s responsibilities, strengthening healthcare services, and ensuring the public receives quality and transparent services.
