President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by the President of Hirshabelle State, Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlaawe), inaugurated a series of landmark development projects in Jowhar, underscoring Hirshabelle’s growing commitment to infrastructure development, institutional strengthening, and improved public service delivery.
Among the key projects officially opened were Villa Hirshabelle, the newly constructed headquarters of the Ministries of Education and Finance, and three major roads—Horseed Road, Hanti-wadaag Road, and Jowhar-Bile Road—which are expected to significantly improve transportation and ease the movement of residents throughout the capital city of Hirshabelle.
The inauguration marks one of the most significant infrastructure milestones in Hirshabelle’s history, reflecting the state’s vision of building modern institutions and creating a strong foundation for economic growth and public service delivery.
The newly inaugurated Villa Hirshabelle, which will serve as the official seat of the state presidency, stands as a symbol of the state’s ambitions and determination to build effective and resilient institutions. Likewise, the new ministry headquarters are expected to enhance government efficiency and strengthen the administration’s ability to serve citizens.
The opening of the Horseed, Hanti-wadaag, and Jowhar-Bile roads represents another major achievement for the state. The roads are expected to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity across the capital, facilitate commerce, and enhance access to government services and economic opportunities for residents.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud praised the Hirshabelle administration for its commitment to development and the successful implementation of projects that directly benefit the public. He noted that the visible progress being made in Hirshabelle demonstrates the increasing capacity of Somalia’s Federal Member States to deliver meaningful results and contribute to national development and stability.
The President commended the state’s investment in infrastructure and governance, emphasizing that strong institutions and modern public facilities are critical pillars for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
For his part, President Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlaawe) described the inauguration as a historic milestone in Hirshabelle’s development journey and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerating progress across the state.
“This milestone is part of what Hirshabelle is focusing on—development and making the state one of the best-performing Federal Member States in Somalia,” President Ali Guudlaawe said.
He further announced that additional major projects are already under implementation and will be unveiled in the coming months as part of the government’s broader modernization and development agenda.
President Guudlaawe emphasized that his administration remains committed to investing in infrastructure, public services, education, economic development, and state institutions to improve the quality of life of citizens and strengthen the foundations of Hirshabelle.
The inauguration ceremonies attracted senior federal and state officials, members of parliament, traditional elders, business leaders, and residents who gathered to witness what many described as a transformative moment for the state.
The newly completed projects are widely viewed as a testament to Hirshabelle’s growing stability, effective leadership, and ambitious vision for the future. They also demonstrate the state’s determination to create a modern, prosperous, and well-connected society capable of meeting the aspirations of its people.
As Hirshabelle continues to roll out major development initiatives, the state is increasingly positioning itself as one of Somalia’s emerging success stories in infrastructure development, institution-building, and regional transformation. With more projects on the horizon, the future appears promising for a state determined to become a model of progress and development within the Federal Republic of Somalia.
